Volunteers’ Week 2022 is here!
We always look forward to Volunteers’ Week as it gives us a special chance to thank our volunteers and recognise and celebrate their efforts to support our community with your unwavering compassion and commitment.
Despite it being a difficult last couple of years, many of our volunteers have stayed with us and continued their roles remotely and returned to our offices, ensuring those residents most in need had access to advice and support for their problems. We’ve also had a number of new faces join us during this time, beginning their volunteering in our new normal way of working. We appreciate everything they have done over the past year. The level of support in which we provide to the community couldn’t happen without them, for which we’re tremendously grateful.
Although we have been unable to see residents face-to-face at the level we once did, their contribution to our digital services has helped ensure we can support as many people as possible. It’s this kind of extraordinary dedication that we are eternally grateful for. We could not deliver our service without volunteers, it’s as simple as that.
We want to take the time this week to thank our volunteers for their exceptional contribution to our services and local community.
Check out some some profiles from our brilliant volunteers – Colin, Kate, Lauren and Fiona.
Chair of Trustees, Irene Campbell, said: “Without our volunteers, Citizens Advice in West Sussex would be unable to function in the successful way it does, helping local people with their issues, especially if they have limited resources, improving their quality of life and contributing to the excellent reputation that we have locally. It has been a difficult few years for all of us, with both our personal and work lives disrupted significantly. This last year has seen many of our volunteers returning to help face-to-face, phone or online channels – and learning to live with the new normal.”
“Our volunteers are the backbone of this organisation and I want to take advantage of Volunteers’ Week to record my gratitude and thanks, on behalf of the Trustees, to every one of you, for your commitment, expertise, goodwill and support. We very much appreciate having you on board. Thank you!”
We’re always looking for more volunteers to join our growing team and help make a difference to our community. From advising to fundraising, administration to social media, there’s a role for you.
