The Chagossian Project is a vital initiative funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and administered by the Sussex Community Foundation. This project aims to support the Chagossian community in Crawley by offering a wide range of advice and assistance on various issues, including immigration, welfare benefits, debt management, housing, and domestic abuse.

Comprehensive Support and Guidance

Our dedicated Community Liaison Officer will be available three days a week, actively engaging with the Chagossian community to provide essential information and advice. Whether you need help understanding your immigration status, navigating the complexities of welfare benefits, managing debt, finding suitable housing, or dealing with domestic abuse, we are here to support you.

Specialised Casework Services

For more complex issues, our specialist caseworker will offer ongoing one-on-one support, representation, and advocacy. This personalised approach ensures that individuals receive the detailed attention and tailored assistance they need to resolve their problems effectively.

Collaborative Approach

The Chagossian Project is committed to working in partnership with community organisations in Crawley. By fostering these collaborations, we aim to create a seamless support network that is easily accessible to all members of the Chagossian community. Our goal is to ensure that no one feels isolated or unsupported in their time of need.

Our Commitment

At the heart of the Chagossian Project is our commitment to the well-being and empowerment of the Chagossian community. We strive to provide comprehensive and effective support to help community members navigate their challenges and improve their quality of life.
