Service Delivery & Data Privacy Manager, Shaun Fawcett, appeared on ITV News Meridian on Tuesday 24th August, 2021.
Shaun discussed the new Government proposal to halve the eight week Financial Ombudsman rule, so that consumers can go to the Ombudsman with complaints after four weeks. Consumers currently have to wait eight weeks before they can complain to a financial watchdog about their energy providers, telecom companies, banks and more.
Long waits can cause financial hardship and unnecessary stress which is why the Government is considering halving the time companies have to deal with complaints from consumers.
