Foodbanks and food groups in West Sussex have been working hard to support people during this time, and several local community groups have been set up to provide support in the community. All information below is correct at the time of going to press, but please note processes may change; we will refresh information on this page as often as possible.

Red Cross –
The Red Cross can arrange a food delivery service for those recently discharged from hospital. Please click here for information.
Burgess Hill –
- Foodbank: We can refer you via email voucher; please contact us for a referral. Call us on 0344 477 1171, or click ‘contact us’ above.
- Burgess Hill Helper Army: This is a local community group that has been set up to help those who need a hand. The group may be able to pop to the shops or run small errands for local older people, or those now not able to as they may be high risk for Coronavirus. Contact them via their Facebook page.
Crawley –
If you are shielding, the Council can help you to get food. Call 01293 43800 or click here to complete a form online. If you aren’t shielding, the Council will refer you to Crawley Open House.
East Grinstead Foodbank –
We can refer you to the service – please call our Adviceline on 0344 477 1171.
Fishersgate –
If you live specifically in Fishersgate and you are in a financial crisis and unable to afford food, please email fishersgatefoodbank@gmail.com.
Haywards Heath –
We can refer you to the foodbank via email voucher; please contact us on 0344 477 1171.
Please note that there is currently a two-week lead time for deliveries. If you are in urgent need, we may need to refer you to Haywards Heath Town Council’s Emergency Food Hub.
Horsham Matters Foodbank – please contact us to be referred – 0344 477 1171.
Please note, this service is for those who are not able to afford food, and you will need to provide evidence of means. The foodbank is not able to assist those purely self-isolating, or those unable to access supplies at the supermarket.
Deliveries will be arranged within 48 hours, and are limited to once a fortnight.
Hurstpierpoint –
The foodbank is currently closed, but the Burgess Hill Foodbank are delivering to the area via a local group. Please call us if you need to be referred: 0344 477 1171, or click ‘contact us’ above.
Shoreham-by-Sea
- We can refer you to the Foodbank; please contact us on 0344 477 1171.
- If you are not receiving welfare benefits but you are self-isolating and need food, please contact the Shoreham Covid-19 Mutual Aid Group at shorehamvolunteers@gmail.com, or on 01273 978566. There is also a Facebook group.
Worthing
- Foodbank: We can arrange a referral for you; please call our Adviceline on 0344 477 1171.
- East Worthing Foodbank: This is a volunteer-led group – call them on 01903 442149, email ewfoodbank@gmail.com or complete this online enquiry form. They aim to get back to people within 48 hours.
