Last night Citizens Advice and The Trussell Trust won Charity Collaboration of the Year at the Charity Times Awards!
Our advisors, Rachael and Caitlin, were lucky enough to attend and help accept the award. Caitlin said, “It was a lovely chance to meet the team who created our helpline and to chat to them about the service and how it’s going. We got to see all the great work so many different charities do and lots of smaller charities I wasn’t even aware of.”
Citizens Advice and The Trussell Trust collaborated to provide a free helpline for people struggling to afford the basics. The helpline offers personalised advice and support to help address the underlying causes of the hardship, as well as a quick and seamless referral to a food bank for people if required.
Our advisors also help to identify the need for wider advice, such as debt, immigration or housing, directing people to specialist onward support. By addressing the underlying causes of the hardship, we hope to reduce the need for food bank support.
Well done to all the charities who were shortlisted and to those who won!
